While Bangladesh has achieved remarkable success in improving water and sanitation coverage, improvements in hygiene have lagged behind. This national strategy aims to facilitate programmatic and systematic approaches to improve menstrual hygiene management (MHM) across different sectors such WASH, health, education and environment. The document begins by describing the strategy development process which involved a literature review, consultation meetings and workshop, and situation analysis. The strategy identifies five guiding principles and eight strategic priorities for improving MHM practices. The strategy also identifies some key MHM actions and responsibilities of government agencies and other stakeholders in households, educational institutions, health care facilities, work places and public places.
